About Temp BTC
What it is
Temp BTC is a free tool for generating disposable Bitcoin addresses. Reusing the same Bitcoin address links every payment you receive or send to a single, permanent public record. Temp BTC gives you a fresh, one-off address whenever you need one, so an individual transaction doesn't have to be tied to the rest of your Bitcoin activity.
Non-custodial by design
"Non-custodial" means no one but you ever holds your private keys — the opposite of a custodial service (like most exchanges), where the provider controls your keys on your behalf and you're trusting them not to lose, freeze, or misuse your funds. Temp BTC never has access to your funds or private keys. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no server that holds your wallet. Every address is a real, standalone native SegWit (P2WPKH) Bitcoin address generated from a key pair that only ever exists on your device.
Runs entirely in your browser
Key generation and transaction signing happen client-side, in JavaScript running in your browser — private key material is never transmitted anywhere. Your current wallet is saved, encrypted, to your browser's local storage purely for convenience, so it's still there the next time you visit. Balances, deposit history, and fee estimates are read from, and transactions are broadcast through, the third-party mempool.space API — see the Privacy Policy for details on what that service can see.
Your responsibility
Because nothing is custodied on your behalf, you are the only one who can access funds sent to a Temp BTC address. Back up any private key for an address you plan to keep using before clearing your browser data or switching devices — see the Terms of Service for the full picture.
